One of the joys of brand photography is discovering the inspiring stories behind independent businesses, and my collaboration with Purscents - founded by Maame Sarpong - was a perfect reminder of why I love what I do.

Purscents is an independent candle maker specialising in beautifully crafted scents, refillable candles, and “make your own” candle experiences. Maame has created a brand that feels high-quality, thoughtful and intentional - good for you, good for your home and good for the environment.

What I admire most is how Purscents continues to develop and evolve, always exploring new ways to create products that bring comfort, atmosphere and a little bit of everyday luxury.

Photographing a brand built on such care, creativity and purpose is always a pleasure.

Celebrating the uplifting scents from Purscents

Our first product photo session was all about celebrating the beautiful fragrance of the Purscents range.

Showcasing the winter range of new candle refills

As winter approached, a new range of candle refills was launched - and these smelt every bit as lovely as the summer range. For this shoot, we focused on using the candle refill kits to reuse your candle jars, with some cosy lights and lifestyle settings to give a real cosy scented vibe. I wish you could smell these candles as well as looking at the photos, they really are wonderful!

Launching candle refills - change scents, not jars

In response to client feedback, Purscents launched a pre-made candle refill to simply replace your old candle in your jar. Further scents, sustainability and repurposing were at the heart of this new range, designed to make refilling your candle jars even easier than before. Storytelling images show just how easy it is to refill your candle jars... simply unwrap, place, light and enjoy!
