Small Business Stories - Jacksons Interiors

One of the things I love most about my work is having the opportunity to feature small businesses and the people behind them - especially those rooted in creativity.

I’m particularly drawn to property and interiors - thoughtful design, beautiful light, layered textures and personal touches always catch my eye... anything that brings warmth and soul to a house has my heart.

That passion is what led me to work with Jacksons Interiors on a beautifully redeveloped property in Kingston…

Capturing light, space and thoughtful detail

I had the pleasure of photographing one of Jacksons Interiors’ recent projects - a thoughtfully redeveloped property in Kingston - commissioned for a Kent Life magazine feature. From a photographer’s perspective, the space was a joy to capture: light-filled, calm and beautifully balanced.

I focused on using natural light to emphasise the generous proportions of the rooms, while also drawing attention to the quieter details - layered textures, considered colour choices and styling touches that make a house feel like a home. This impressive home was spacious, yet felt welcoming and warm from the moment I stepped in.

Meet Katy Jackson, founder of Jacksons Interiors

Jacksons Interiors is built on the belief that great design should feel accessible, supportive and deeply personal - never intimidating.

Offering flexible interior design and consultancy services, founder Katy Jackson works with clients in Kent and beyond, in a way that keeps them firmly in control, providing expert guidance without long contracts or unnecessary pressure. The result is confident decision-making and homes that feel both beautifully considered and genuinely lived in.

With over 10 years’ experience, Katy has grown her business from a Tunbridge Wells based decorating company into a full home renovation, project management and interior design service. Her passion for colour and space was shaped during four years as a Colour Consultant for The Little Greene Paint Company and Paint & Paper Library, giving her an intuitive understanding of how colour can transform mood and atmosphere.

As part of the commission, Katy wanted to include photographs of herself working in the space, reflecting her friendly, approachable nature and reinforcing the personal connection at the heart of her business.

We used Jo for a photoshoot for a magazine article. It was good fun!

Jo understood exactly what we wanted from the shoot and in a limited time got some fab photos which were then featured in Kent Life magazine.

We will be using Jo going forward for all our shoots. We highly recommend Jo to anyone, good price, fun had and quick turnaround. What more could you want!

Collaboration, creativity and what’s next...

Katy and I share a genuine passion for creating spaces that feel warm, personal and lived in, rather than styled for show. That shared approach made the collaboration feel effortless and is reflected in the final result - a home that feels cohesive, inviting and full of character. And, whilst these photos were originally taken for a magazine commission, Katy has since used them on her own website to showcase her amazing work.

Alongside her design work, Katy also runs interior workshops, sharing her knowledge and helping others feel more confident in shaping their own spaces. This year, we’ll be working together to support small business owners in making their workspaces truly work for them - creating environments that are not only functional, but inspiring... and, of course, representative of your brand.
